During the tour, we explain what a world heritage is. We talk about why Skogskyrkogården is a world heritage site and provide some historical background information on the cemetery.
We also speak about the thoughts and period trends that influenced the architects. The esthetical outline of the cemetery and its architecture, art and design. How the landscape has been planned and preserved.
As several different religions are represented at Skogskyrkogården, we also talk about burials and funeral rites from a historical, religious and contemporary perspective. Many schools therefore use the visit to Skogskyrkogården as a starting point for questions and discussions regarding ethics, death and various funeral rites.
School field trips are also adapted according to the age of the pupils and the school's needs; contact us so we can plan a visit together.
You can schedule a school field trip by calling +46 (0)8-508 316 20 or sending an e-mail to boka.stadsmuseet@stockholm.se
