Designed by Gunnar Asplund and erected in 1939, the granite cross stands on the lawn in front of the Woodland Crematorium. It was made possible by an anonymous donation.
Skogskyrkogården is a cemetery open to all, regardless of religious beliefs. Traditionally, the cross is a Christian symbol of life after death. In this setting, it can also be interpreted simply as a symbol of the cemetery itself.
